What Is a Corporate Video? Types, Uses and Professional Production Guide

Updated: Sep 5

A promotional film is professionally produced video content that presents a company’s products, services, production capacity, working environment and corporate identity to a defined audience through a planned visual narrative. It can be used on a website, at a trade fair, in an investor presentation or across social media, effectively becoming the company’s digital shop window.
The term covers a broad range of projects. An industrial film showing a food factory’s production line is very different from a film explaining the corporate story of a technology company. Both are promotional films, but their objectives, audiences, filming methods and budgets are not the same.
This guide explains what a promotional film is, its principal formats, use cases, indicative budget ranges and professional production stages. The observations are based directly on Medyabox’s field experience since 2015 and more than 250 completed promotional-film projects.
Why Is a Promotional Film Important?
It builds trust
The human brain processes visual information far more quickly than written text. A professional film proves the reality, capacity and seriousness of a business within a few minutes. For prospective customers making contact for the first time, the film is the first trigger of trust. A company with a promotional film on its website is perceived as much more trustworthy than one without it.
It shortens the sales cycle
It is a waste of time for the sales team to introduce the company from the beginning in every meeting. When a prospect watches the film beforehand, the meeting can move directly to the details of a potential collaboration. This shortens the sales cycle and increases the conversion rate.
It is a long-term investment
A promotional film is produced once and is used actively for an average of two to four years. Google Ads traffic stops when the advertising budget ends; the promotional film continues working for years on the website, YouTube and social media. In terms of cost and impact, it is one of the most efficient marketing tools.
It strengthens digital presence
Web pages containing video have the potential to rank higher on Google. The visitor’s time on the page increases, the bounce rate falls and the search engine receives a signal that the page is valuable. A promotional film is therefore a natural part of the SEO strategy.
Types of Promotional Film
Corporate Promotional Film
A corporate promotional film presents the overall company story, vision, team and market position. The audience normally includes prospective clients, business partners and investors. The primary objective is to explain who the company is within a short time.
It normally includes the founding story and vision, offices or facilities, team structure and areas of expertise, reference clients and an overview of the product or service range.
Ideal duration: two to three minutes. Current Medyabox pricing is maintained in the relevant service and Video Production Prices 2026 guides.
Factory Promotional Film
This industrial film presents the production facility, capacity, technological infrastructure, quality-control systems and logistics strength. The audience normally includes overseas buyers, distributors and large companies selecting suppliers.
Unlike a general corporate film, it places the physical facility and production process at the centre. Drone coverage, machinery, production-line flow, the quality-control laboratory and warehouse operations form the foundation.
Ideal duration: two to four minutes. Current Medyabox pricing is maintained in the relevant service and Video Production Prices 2026 guides.
Product Promotional Film
A product film explains the features, applications and advantages of a specific product or product group. It directly affects sales in e-commerce, retail and B2B processes.
It is filmed under controlled studio lighting. Rotating product views, detail shots, demonstrations and lifestyle concepts are the main formats.
Ideal duration: 30 seconds to two minutes. Current Medyabox pricing is maintained in the relevant service and Video Production Prices 2026 guides.
Event Film
An event film professionally documents congresses, conferences, launches, trade fairs, galas and festivals and produces an aftermovie. The audience includes organisers, sponsors and potential participants in future events.
Multi-camera coverage, professional sound recording and rapid-delivery capacity are the defining requirements of this format.
Ideal duration: 1.5–3 minutes for an aftermovie and 30–60 seconds for a social-media teaser. Current Medyabox pricing is maintained in the relevant service and Video Production Prices 2026 guides.
Occupational Health & Safety Training Film
OH&S training films are produced for employee education across separate subjects such as induction, personal protective equipment, working at height, emergency procedures, chemical safety and lockout/tagout.
Dramatised scenes, motion graphics and LMS-compatible delivery are the technical requirements of this format.
Ideal duration: five to fifteen minutes per topic. Current Medyabox pricing is maintained in the relevant service and Video Production Prices 2026 guides.
Social Media Video Content
These are short professional videos produced for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn. Vertical framing, fast pacing and editing suited to the platform language are their characteristic features.
Ideal duration: 15–60 seconds. Review our Social Media Video Production service. Current Medyabox pricing is maintained in the relevant service and Video Production Prices 2026 guides.
Where Is a Promotional Film Used?
Website
Placed on the home page, a promotional film increases the visitor’s time on the page and introduces the company within seconds. Pages containing video have a higher conversion rate than pages without it. The ideal website duration is two to three minutes.
Social media
A 30–60 second version of the complete film is shared on social media. Vertical, subtitled versions receive higher engagement on Instagram and TikTok. Uploading the complete film is a mistake; a short version suited to the platform language is required.
Trade fairs and events
A looping promotional film at the exhibition stand increases visitor traffic. The trade-fair version should be one to two minutes long, subtitled and suitable for looping. Because the environment is noisy, strong images and subtitles are preferred to narration.
Sales meetings and presentations
Sending the film before a prospective-client or investor meeting increases the efficiency of the meeting. A more detailed three-to-five-minute version may be shown in a presentation setting.
Export and B2B platforms
Profiles containing video on Alibaba, Made-in-Turkey and sector-specific B2B platforms receive much higher viewing. An English voice-over version is mandatory for exporters. German, Arabic or Russian versions strengthen trust according to the target market.
LinkedIn and digital communication
A promotional film shared on the company’s LinkedIn page or a manager’s personal profile creates organic reach across the B2B network. Sharing the video link in cold-email campaigns increases the response rate.
Which Sectors Need Promotional Film?
High-priority sectors
Manufacturing and industrial companies, particularly exporters. Overseas buyers do not want to trust a company without seeing it; a factory film functions as a digital preliminary inspection.
Technology and software companies. Video is mandatory for making abstract services concrete. Presenting the service process, team structure and success stories through video is much more effective than text-based explanation.
Educational institutions. Universities, colleges and training centres show their facilities and learning environments through a promotional film. Prospective students and parents use video as an important reference in the decision process.
Healthcare organisations. Hospitals and clinics communicate facility quality, specialist staff and technological infrastructure reliably through a promotional film.
Medium-priority sectors
Professional services such as consultancy, law and accountancy, construction and property, tourism and hospitality, restaurants and food brands.
Situations that cannot be managed without a promotional film
If you export, it is mandatory: when the overseas buyer cannot make a physical visit, video is the only reliable source of information. If you attend a trade fair, it is mandatory: there is no fair without a stand, and a stand without video is ineffective. If you seek investment, it is mandatory: the investor wants to understand the company within three minutes.
Stages of Promotional-Film Production
Pre-production
The process begins with the briefing meeting: the company’s objective, audience, budget and schedule are defined. The script is written, the location is inspected and the shooting plan is prepared. This stage forms the basis of the entire process; a well-planned project means an efficient shoot and a high-quality result. Our step-by-step production guide explains each stage in detail.
Production
On the shoot day, the director executes the plan. Cameras are set up, lighting is positioned and scenes are recorded in order. Each scene is filmed from several angles and in multiple takes. A shoot day normally lasts eight to twelve hours.
Post-production
The footage is reviewed, the strongest images are selected, editing and colour grading are completed, voice-over is added and music is selected. The first cut is presented to the client, feedback is collected and revisions are made. This stage determines the final quality of the film.
Delivery
The film is delivered in formats suitable for the website, social media, trade fairs and presentations. Three revision rounds are included as standard at Medyabox.
